glue sticks are hermetically sealed adhesives in slope or push-up tubes. Users can apply paste by holding the entry tube to save their fingers clean and rubbing the exposed glue adjoining a surface.
Most paste sticks are expected to glue paper and card gathering together, and are not as mighty as some liquid-based variants. They can be used for craft and design, office use and at school. There are now permanent, washable, acid-free, non-toxic, solvent-free, and dyed (e.g. to look where the glue is physical applied easier) varieties. These are most commonly used today.
In 1969 the German company Henkel invented the paste fix after studying the "twist-up ease" and ease of access of lipstick applicators. The product was released below the Pritt pin brand. By 1971 the Pritt pin was monster sold in 38 countries, by 2001 in 121. The first solvent-free, multipurpose paste attach that could be used for new materials (e.g. wood, glass and some plastics) was the "PowerPritt", which was put upon the spread around in 2003. There is along with a "Pritt X", launched in 2010.
Glue sticks are made below many brands and each may have swing features to it. Various brands, such as Scotch, Elmer's, UHU, Kores, Giotto, UFO, Snopake, and Bostik U-Stick create glue sticks. Generic brands following M&G also build paste sticks, utilising the approach action.
Glue sticks can come in many sizes, the most common ones are 8g, 25g, 36g, and 40g.
Known materials to be used for glue sticks are PVA or PVP. However, the Henkel company is as of 2000 not using PVP in Pritt anymore but makes use of natural starch
